A ; You do not need to buy a physical MetroCard anymore.
The easiest way to ride the NYC subway or public buses is by using OMNY, the city's contactless payment system.
You can simply tap your contactless credit/debit card, smartphone, or wearable device (like an Apple Watch or Fitbit) directly at the turnstile.
