An Amtrak maintenance/work train caught fire on Track 11 inside one of the **Hudson River Tunnels** around 1:30 AM. * **Midtown Direct** trains are being diverted to **Hoboken Terminal**. From there, you can take the **PATH train** into Manhattan (33rd Street or World Trade Center) or catch a private carrier bus.
* You can also take NJ Transit rail to **Newark Penn Station** and transfer to the PATH train from there.
* **From Long Island:**
* Head directly to **Grand Central Madison** or **Atlantic Terminal** in Brooklyn instead of Penn Station. The MTA is adding extra trains to Grand Central to handle the overflow, and NYC subways are cross-honoring LIRR tickets to help you navigate once you're in the city.
